How to improve your metabolism

  • Eat a diet rich in vitamins C and B, calcium, protein, iron and fibre.
  • Never skip breakfast.
  • Always opt for healthy eating.
  • Exercise daily for 30-45 minutes
  • Increase fluid intake .Take water 8-12 glasses everyday.
  • Expose your body in sun for 20-30 minutes so as to have sufficient vitamin-D in body.
  • Opt for organic foods in your diet because the toxicity from pesticides has been found to slow metabolism and encourage weight gain.
  • To kick start your metabolism , start your day by taking lemon water first thing in the morning in an empty stomach. To prepare lemon water put half lemon+ 1 teaspoon honey + 1/2 teaspoon pepper powder in lukewarm water.
  • Take a lot of green tea like 2-4 cups a day .
  • Take ginger tea . Ginger tea can be prepared by grating a small piece of ginger in a cup of water and put it to boil for 3-5 minutes . Strain the water and drink .
  • Take a lot of fruits (4-5 fruits) daily . Fruits are rich in fibre.
  • Do not wolf down your food. Instead , drink your food and chew your water .That means you should chew your food 32-40 times till completely becomes like a liquid and while drinking water , drink it slowly rotating and circulating it in the whole mouth.
  • Determine your calorie requirements and plan your diet accordingly.
  • Do not starve yourself as it can lower your metabolism drastically.
  • Do not take over-the-counter pills to boost metabolism.
  • Avoid stress as it raises the amount of cortisol in your body that can hamper the metabolism process.
  • Get enough sleep as lack of sleep can slow the metabolism, increase appetite and increase risks of obesity and weight gain.
  • Drink a cup of coffee daily as a small amount of caffeine can boost your metabolism by stimulating your central nervous system.
